Appearances can sometimes deceive and clear, sparkling pond water does not always indicate a healthy pond. Hidden compounds particularly damaging to fish and plant life may build up unnoticed but this complete Pond Test Kit will help to monitor the pond’s condition to allow remedial action to be taken.

Test A tests for acidity and alkalinity (pH test). Pond fish require a pH of 6.5 – 8.5 and acid pond water can result in increased pollutants and a shortage of oxygen. Too much alkaline can harm fish and damage plant life.

Test B is the water quality Nitrate test. Nitrates promote plant growth but high levels lead to an undesirable accumulation of algae.

Test C is the Nitrite test for toxic pollutants. High levels of Nitrites are particularly harmful to fish causing them to lose their colour and gasp at the pond’s surface.

The kit includes help and advice and ways to create a healthy environment for the fish and plants. There are sufficient capsules for 24 tests, 8 each for pH, Nitrate and Nitrite.
