Glen Ample is the best and heaviest cropping of the mid season raspberries. This raspberry crops from the first week of July onwards and is 50% cropped by the end of the third week of July.

Glen Ample is spine free with upright canes. The fruiting side growths are also upright and carry relatively few leaves making picking easier. All raspberries -which we supply as bare rooted canes fall into one of the following categories: early, mid season like Glen Ample, late and autumn fruiting depending on when the bulk of their crop is ready for picking.

Raspberries produce a first, large flush of fruit roughly half the total in the first few weeks of fruiting. Thereafter the supply of raspberries reduces. For continuous picking therefore you will need to have some of each type. Glen Ample should be planted with about 60cms between plants and 2.5 metres between rows.

Please remember to plant raspberries with their roots just under the surface. Deep planting kills them.

Our Raspberry canes are 1 - 2 years old. We plant a minimum of 2 canes per pot. Height can vary from approx 15cm tall ( height above compost ) to 90cm tall. As the season develops the plants will mature to the taller end of the scale.

We currently stock 2 options:

Choose from Bare root x 5 plants

3ltr Pot grown x 1

Please note the Bare Root option can be ordered now for delivery in early November.
